Cookie Policy

Moventa itself sets one cookie, and only if you arrive through someone's referral link.

On our public pages — the home page, listings, realtor profiles, city pages and our information pages — we also run the Meta Pixel, so we can tell whether our advertising on Facebook and Instagram is reaching the right people. It sets up to two more cookies and tells Meta that a browser visited that page. It does not run on pages you need an account to see: not your dashboard, your messages, your CRM, or your billing pages. Section 3 says exactly what it does and how to stop it.

To keep you signed in and to remember your theme, we use your browser's local storage rather than cookies.

Cookies

• moventa_ref — set only when you arrive through a referral link that contains someone's referral code. It stores that code and nothing else, so that if you later subscribe to Moventa Pro we can credit the person who referred you. It lasts 30 days, or until you register, whichever comes first. If you never use a referral link, this cookie is never set.
• _fbp — set by the Meta Pixel on our public pages. It holds a random identifier for your browser, which lets Meta recognise the same browser across visits to our public pages and match it against people who saw our adverts. It lasts 90 days. It is set by Meta's script, not by us, and we do not read it.
• _fbc — also set by the Meta Pixel, and only if you reach Moventa by clicking one of our adverts on Facebook or Instagram, because that is when the link carries a click identifier. It stores that identifier so Meta can connect the click to the visit. It lasts 90 days.

Local storage (persists until you sign out or clear your browser)

• Sign-in tokens — two tokens that keep you signed in and let your session renew without asking for your password again. Signing out deletes them.
• Theme preference — whether you chose the light or dark appearance.
• Visit marker — a random value that lets us tell one person opening several tabs apart from several different people when we count visits to our public pages. It is replaced with a new random value every 24 hours, so it cannot follow you from one day to the next, and it is not derived from anything about you or your device.

Session storage (discarded when you close the tab)

• Anonymous visit identifier — a random value that lets us group the actions from a single visit when measuring how the product is used. It is not linked to your name or email address, it is not shared with anyone, and it does not persist beyond the tab.

Images on Moventa are delivered by Cloudinary, and the optional Google sign-in button is loaded from Google. Because those requests go to their servers, those companies can see your IP address and browser, and may set cookies of their own under their own policies. We do not control those cookies and we do not read them.

Meta (Facebook and Instagram) receives information about your visits to our public pages, through the Meta Pixel described in section 1. What Meta receives is: the address of the public page you looked at, your IP address, your browser's user-agent string, and the _fbp identifier from section 2. We use it for one purpose — measuring whether our advertising works, and reaching people who have visited Moventa before. We do not send Meta your name, your email address, your account, or anything you have typed into Moventa, and the pixel does not run on any page that requires you to be signed in.

We do not use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, or any other analytics product. Our own measurement of how the site is used — the records described below — runs entirely on our own servers, and the Meta Pixel is the only thing on this site that reports anything about your visit to another company.

Our own records contain no IP address. For visits to our public pages we do record the general category of device, browser and operating system — for example "mobile", "Chrome", "Android" — together with the site you arrived from and any campaign label in the link you followed. We keep the category and discard the detailed identifying text your browser sends, because the category is what tells us whether the site works well on phones and the detail is what would make you identifiable. You can clear or block cookies and local storage in your browser settings, and you can delete them at any time. Two things to be aware of:

• clearing local storage signs you out, because that is where your sign-in tokens live;
• clearing the referral cookie before you register means we cannot credit the person who referred you.

Blocking any of this changes nothing about what Moventa shows you. The one part of it used for advertising is the Meta Pixel, and there are three ways to stop it: block third-party scripts or the facebook.com and connect.facebook.net domains in your browser or an extension; use your browser's tracking protection, which blocks it by default in several browsers; or change your ad preferences with Meta if you have a Facebook or Instagram account. Signing out of Moventa does not stop it, because it runs on our public pages whether or not you have an account.
